Gas turbines are the alpha and omega of power generation. Through burning fuels, mechanical energy is generated and converted into electricity. In doing so, it produces enormous amounts of energy daily – energy which, in turn, effects the system itself.
A main component of this process is thus the fuel injection in the nozzles distributed in a circular form around the gas turbine which must be supplied with fuel in exactly equal proportions. An irregular distribution brings the combustion process out of balance and exposes the turbine wheel to extreme stress.
