Digital Transformation in the Black Forest – Scherzinger Meets Digital Challenges (Kopie 1)

With the development of a Digital Roadmap, the company Scherzinger takes an additional step to meet the challenges of the digital transformation. The customer promise is the top priority: dynamic, flexible and proficient problem solutions for individual gear and vane-type pumps.

The rapid technical transformation and the penetration of the Internet in many areas of life also does not stop for companies. The restructuring of business and customer processes or the digital networking of production machines are only a few challenges which companies must face today. Many small- and medium-sized companies in particular are, however, dealing with this very tentatively and are having difficulties implementing digital technologies and the resulting transformation processes.  

Scherzinger has taken an additional step towards digital transformation and is working on the TrueCultureDig project concerning digital transformation in companies. In this venture, the company is accompanied by the Pforzheim University for Applied Sciences, the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research and the Institute for Applied Innovation Research of Bochum. "We have already been paying attention to the possibilities of new digital technology for some time. In the scope of this project, we have finally been successful in assessing various topics and finding an integrated approach to implementation!" states Matthias Derse, the Executive Director. In several work meetings, concrete measures have thus been developed by Scherzinger which can now be transferred to a digital roadmap. "The roadmap offers an initial itinerary for the digital future of the company. With its implementation, we can continue to be available to our customers as individual problem solvers."

During the project duration until the end of 2021, selected measures will be implemented in the form of digitalization projects. In addition to the technical implementation, the cultural transformation within the company will in particular play a central role here. "Digital transformation is then successful when the non-technical design areas are considered and included as central conditions for success. In the course of this, it also follows that the business culture shall be adapted to the individual digital measures together with the company," concludes Dr. Christian Lerch, director of the research project TrueCultureDig. The research project TrueCultureDig is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) within the scope of the Future of Work program. It helps medium-sized companies actively organize their digital transformations.
